August, 2011 - Ryan & Melissa move to Haiti
Here's an excerpt from their web page: www.ryanandmelissaalberts.com
We are now moved out of our house, Melissa quit her job, and Ryan put in his notice at work. The month of July was spent taking care of all the details to be completed before moving to Haiti. There have been so many little confirmations along the way from the Lord, and it has been amazing to see him take care of even the tiniest details....
June 20, 2008 - Rich is packed up and headed back to Ft Rucker
Rich and Dad packed a U-Haul trailer full of Rich's worldly possessions for the move to Ft Rucker. Ryan & Melissa stop for one last visit before Rich left. It looks like Rich has all his stuff in the U-Haul.
Carolyn shows her support by wearing her Army t-shirt.
June, 2008 - Rich spends some time in Minnesota
Rich took a 20 day leave in June, 2008, after WOC Graduation to visit MN before starting the next phase of his training at Ft Rucker.
This picture was taken Sunday, June 8th as we celebrated Carolyn's birthday with a family picnic in the backyard.

I am extremely proud of Rich. He left for basic training on January 21, 2008. His graduation ceremony from basic training was in April, 2008 and I are looking forward to seeing him every chance I can. It is rare that we are together as a family on his birthday. Wow, that's a big change! I know he is doing well from his texts and phone calls.
This picture was taken in August, 2017 when Rich visited Shelly and I at the Bay Lake Cabin. The moose was shoot in Canada by Shelly's father George Hurda in the late 1950s. It was in George's Office at Spring Lake Lumber until he sold the lumberyard in 1964. The moose then was moved to George and Kay's home on Bay Lake where it hung above their fireplace. Years later after both George and Kay had passed away, the moose was given to Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge where it can be seen today.
